Vietnam tradition has a wide range of colorful festivals and events. In between are countless local festivals, the most notably festival is in the Red River Delta. Are you ready to spend your time with these festival?

Tet holiday or Lunar New Year

This is the most important festival of Vietnamese. The festival falls between January and February. Depending on Lunar Calendar, we have around 1 week for office and 1 month for student. This is the time for family reunions, and for paying respect to ancestors and the elders. Full of food, flower, lucky money, dragon dancing, decoration are some activities during this holiday.

Huong (perfume) Pagoda Festival in My Duc Ha Noi

After Tet holiday, Huong Pagoda festival is the biggest longest festival. The festival start from the 6th January to the end of March in Lunar Calendar. During the festival, you can enjoy the pagoda and temple or exploring the holy caves by boat. The complex consists of several pagodas and temples built into the limestone of Huong Tich Mountain. We believed that climbing to the top of the mountain will bring fulfillment and great success in life.

Yen Tu festival in Quang Ninh

Yen Tu festivities begin from 9th January to the end of March in Lunar Calendar. The route of the pilgrimage from the foot of the mountain to the pagoda is nearly 30 km. There are 11 pagodas and around 100 shrines and towers. The highest point of Yen Tu is Bronze Pagoda, which is located 1,068 m above sea level. From the way climbing to Bronze Pagoda you can see pagodas, a tower, a stream and a forest and almost all of the north-east area from here.

Lim festival in Bac Ninh

It is on the 13th January with the cultural heritage of “Quan Ho”, which is a unique type of folk song typical of Bac Ninh Province. Quan Ho is a dialogue performance between male singers (lien anh) and female singers (lien chi). There are strict The rules for this dialogue performance are very strict and the singers must be quick witted and have strong grasp of traditional tunes and history and culture of these songs.

Buffalo fighting festival in Vinh Phuc

This interested festival takes 2 days in 16th and 17th January of Lunar Calendar.

Hung King Anniversary

On 10th March, this is a traditional festival which honors the first King of Vietnam – King Hung. It’s considered as national festival for every Vietnamese to remember their origin and express their respect as well as gratitude to ancestor.

Khau Vai Love Market

This special market is only once a year in 27th March at Dong Van plateau. This is where the ethnic minority Hmong, Tay and Lo Lo come here seeking a life partner or a change in partner. You can enjoy local food and drink, song and dance performances and folk games.

For those who are deeply interested in cultural and spiritual events, take part in Vietnam festivals will be one of the best ways to enjoy.
